A consultation is absolutely required to determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal treatments. How does diode 808 laser hair removal work?

Using selective light absorption, the Diode 808 laser is preferentially absorbed by the melanin of the hair. The light energy is taken up by the hair follicle and converted to heat energy, and minimal energy is transferred to the skin. This preferentially heats the hair and it’s DNA, while reducing oxygen organization around hair follicle – reducing the chance of hair regrowth. Special cooling technology is applied simultaneously during treatment to cool the skin and protect skin.

Principles of treatment:

The light penetrates the skin through the epidermis into the dermis and is selectively absorbed by melanin and the hair follicle, producing photo thermal effects. Once the temperature rises rapidly from the beginning to the roots of the hair, melanin is broken down to achieve the effect of permanent hair reduction. The surrounding normal tissues are not affected.

Are the Diode 808 laser hair removal treatments painful?

Most people with lighter skin should feel no pain as they will undergo hair removal with the 808nm Diode Laser Semi Permanent Hair Reduction. It is considered the latest and most pain free form of hair removal. Other people describe the feeling similar to a pinch of a rubber band.  Most clients express the sensation as very tolerable.

How many diode 808 laser hair removal treatments do I need?

Hair grows in continuous cycles. The anagen or growth phase of hair contains the largest amounts of melanin and this phase is the laser’s target.  From scientific studies we understand that any area contains an average of 20% of anagen hairs at one time, thus, these anagen hairs are affected each treatment. Most clients will require a minimum of 6 treatments. Finer hair and clients with darker skin, may require 6-10 treatments. If you suffer from a hormone imbalance your treatments may be ongoing. To have effective treatments it is imperative that they be sequenced appropriately.

Which part can be treated?

Diode 808 Laser are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, chin, back, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas. Lasers can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

Does the 808nm Diode Laser Semi Permanent Hair Reduction work on different skin colors?

The Diode 808 Laser is the gold standard in Permanent Hair Removal and is suitable on all pigmented hair and skin types—including tanned skin. For darker skin types appropriate fluencies (energy levels) are generally lower and appropriate pulse widths (duration of exposure) are generally longer addition with the cooling touch system to prevent damage to the epidermis.

What are the precautions before and after treatment?

Pay attention to sun protection one month before treatment; do not do epilation, hair removal cream or electrolytic hair removal for two weeks before treatment.

Avoid chemical or mechanical stimulation for two days before and after treatment.

Two weeks before and after treatment, interventions such as fillers or other injections are prohibited.

Can laser hair removal cause cancer?

The US Food and Drug Administration has made a statement that laser hair removal uses “non-ionizing radiation”, means radiation that does not cause ionization. The light energy carried by lasers actually only reaches the surface of the skin and is difficult to enter the human body. Such lasers will not cause DNA damage or cause DNA mutations. The light pulses used in laser hair removal are designed to generate heat to destroy hair follicle cells. Although some women are concerned about the impact of hair removal near the reproductive organs, experts say the technique does not pose additional risks. The light used for laser hair removal does not penetrate the hair follicle cells, and the organs in the body of the individual undergoing this operation are not affected in any way. For the time being, no research has shown that the light used in laser hair removal can cause cancer.

808 Laser Process
Has 7 steps for the whole treatment:
1. Sanitize: The treatment area will be cleaned and sanitized with Lavender Solution to prepare the skin.
2. Pre-care: A layer of Jasmine Oil will be applied in order to protect the skin before treatment.
3. Shave: Our therapists will then shave the hairs on the treated skin. The reason being is we don’t want to treat (and heat) hairs on the skin’s surface.
4. Chilled Protection Gel: A layer of Chilled Protection Gel will be applied on shaved skin to protect the skin and ensure the best transmission of the light down to the hair root.
5. Laser: Laser treatment can now be started. The hand piece is moved to cover the entire area, closely. In Paradis, we ensure our shots cover every single inch of the treated area to guaranteed the best result.
6. Sanitize: After the laser treatment, treated area will be once sanitized and clean again to ensure hygienic.
7. Post-care: A layer of Jasmine Oil & Soothing Lotion is then apply on the treated area to sooth & maximize the laser effect.

After the treatment
Hair growth becomes sparser with each session, even after the first trial. 10-50% of treated hairs should shed about two weeks after the treatment. Generally the treatment will be carried out every 3-5weeks to ensure optimal result. The treatment period will be lengthen according to individual result after a few sessions.
There is nothing much you need to care of after the treatment! We will do the job! All you need to do after the laser treatment is to apply Waxxxx soothing cream as daily care. It can maximize the brightening effect at the same time prevent forming of pigmentation on the skin.
